Celebrating Iman: One of the Worlds Most Beautiful Women

At age 52 Iman has sashayed the runways, graced the covers of many major magazines and succeeded as a business woman. She has her own line of cosmetics and fashions...just to name a few of her accomplishments.

If I ever had a chance to meet the fabulous and successful Iman, one question would be what her secrets are for looking young, staying fit and remaining incredibly stylish.

According to the May 6, 2009 issue of Allure Magazine, Iman shared the following beauty secrets:

  • Sunscreen (she uses SPF 50)

  • Bronzer

  • Concealer (especially under the eyes)

  • Good skin care (regular facials, use of a facial mask, good moisturizer)

The January 2011 issue of Essence magazine listed some of Sam Fine's (makeup artist to the stars) tips for looking fresh and fabulous in the new year. Some of the ones that stood out to me were;

  • Use bronzer on your lids and cheekbones
  • Use facial bleach to gently lighten your brows for a softer look

While looking at Iman's photo, I can see that she has lightened brows and bronzer on her face. Both have added to her totally ageless look. I also noticed highlights in her hair.

In an effort to add my own tips for looking fresh and fabulous in the new year, why don't you try:

  • Add highlights to your hair (even if they are just in the front near your bangs).

Don't want to go to the salon? Highlights can easily be done at home. I have been very pleased with Garnier Multilights in color H3. Because you should not highlight your hair more than 2 levels (ladies with very dark brown hair should not go blond) without risking damage, the H3 color is a very soft lift to your natural color. I dampen an area of my hair first, coat it with olive oil or jojoba oil and follow the instructions on the highlighting kit. Because of the oil and water, less damage is done to my hair.

  • Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate

You don't need to pay for an expensive facial to achieve the same results. Regular use of St. Ives Apricot Scrub with salicylic acid is a wonderful product that will leave you with soft skin and smaller pores. If you currently have breakouts, please refrain because the scrub can be irritating to your skin.

These are some of Iman's tips mixed with Sam Fine's and some of my own. What are some of your tips for looking fresh and fabulous in the new year?

Do tell!
